RAIS set themselves the unique challenge of developing a wood burning stove which pushes forward the boundaries of eco-friendly performance and design. What they produced was a fully automatic stove with a record-breaking efficiency of 86% and negligible particle emissions.
Typical wood combustion generates a range of particles which are normally emitted into the environment. By means of pioneering and innovative development work, RAIS has managed to develop a technology that burns practically all residual particulates.
Amazingly, when the Danish Technological Institute tested the fire, they found that particulate emissions were too low to be measured on their standard scale. The official figure of 0.6g/kg is merely the standard margin of error added to zero.
Combustion is automatically controlled, so the fire is lit and refuelled by the user, but the stove does the rest. Combustion starts in the upper chamber then once an optimum temperature is reached, the direction of combustion is automatically reversed and the spectacular down-firing into the lower chamber begins.
The Viva L is also HETAS Cleaner Choice certificated.
As well as ground-breaking performance and stunning visual effect, the Bionic has uniquely sculptural looks. The purity of the rounded white frame around the double combustion chamber and the crisp organic form reflect the clean and efficient way that the stove burns wood. The stove body can be either black or ‚ nickel nuance‚ a new RAIS colour which perfectly complements the white or black door. The handle is elegantly shaped to follow the stove’s contours. The door is easy to open by means of a gentle turn of the handle and locks automatically when the handle is released.
BIONIC is DEFRA exempted and has the option of direct air supply.
