The future has arrived!! The stoves of tomorrow are available today….
Posted on 17 August 2022
Earlier this week, the Stove Industry Alliance (SIA) and the Houses of Parliament officially launched the Ecodesign Ready Scheme. The new European-wide programme is another important milestone for wood burning stoves with the scheme to lower emissions and improve air quality becoming mandatory for all stoves by 2022.
The scheme overseen by HETAS, aims to lower emissions and improve air quality, with the particle emissions on these Ecodesign stoves being 90% lower than open fire and roughly 82% lower than older style stoves.
So what does this mean for us here at Robeys?
Due to the very strict new performance criteria many stoves on the market will need to be completely re-designed to comply, however we are delighted to report that all except one* of current RAIS wood burning stove range already meet the ecodesign criteria!!
This means you can now be absolutely sure when you purchase your “ecodesign ready” RAIS stove that it is future proof and already incorporates the most advanced combustion technology available.
These stoves even have their very own stamp of approval, helping to not only raise awareness of this new initiative but also indicates that your RAIS stove is of high efficiency and ecodesign ready. Keep a lookout for the Rais Ecodesign logo on our website to help identify the stoves of the future.
